Bennett Architectural were appointed to provide the glazing solutions for a project in the commercial sector, Two Smithfield, a new public realm building.
Designed to reflect the heritage of the potteries whilst using modern methods of offsite construction, the project is part of a regeneration of Stoke City Centre.
Two Smithfield is now part of a larger business quarter consisting of eight buildings, with further phases planned for the future.
Pre-cast concrete panels were constructed and brickwork cornices and glazed brick were completed within factory conditions prior to erection on site.
Within a fast track programme, Bennett Architectural installed curtain wall screens to give the building impressive verticality.
The Kawneer products that were fabricated and installed by the Bennett Architectural team include the AA100 and AA110 Curtain Walling.
The name ‘Smithfield’ comes from the Smithfield bottle works which previously occupied the site, providing a simple reminder of the areas history.
