Bennett Architectural were chosen to supply the architectural aluminium glazing solutions for The Grange University Hospital, a new build hospital located in Wales.
The 560-bed hospital is designed to serve 600,000 residents in south-east Wales and was constructed from precast concrete which was transported from the Laing O’Rourke Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC).
The project, completed alongside Laing O’Rourke and BDP, involved installing Kawneer’s AA100 curtain walling and AA720 windows and doors
The offsite construction technique DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) was used in order to improve health and safety, reduce time on site and provide greater cost certainty for the project.
The project was delivered four months ahead of schedule in November 2020 to support the Health Board’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For further information on our involvement in offsite construction, you can visit our DfMA or MMC pages.
