Have you ever wondered what it’s like to work as a Fabricator for Bennett Architectural?

We spoke to Fabricator Chris Bill about his typical working day.

 

Tell us 3 words to describe your job? 

Interesting, challenging, different.

What can you remember about your first day/week at Bennetts?

Being apprehensive as it was a total change of career, but everyone was very helpful so it soon felt comfortable.

What is a typical day as a Fabricator?

Working with the team to produce curtain walling or windows depending on what we are working on at the time.

How would you describe your job to a stranger?

Making aluminium window systems.

What’s the biggest challenge in your job?

Following the information on the drawings and making sure everything is assembled correctly and using some of the machinery in the workshop as it is something new to me.

Tell us what you’re working on at the moment?

A recent project for the New Grange Hospital in South Wales.

What has been your crowning achievement to date at Bennetts?

Learning on the job to be able to assemble the products to a high standard and within the time frame.
