Aluminium glazing specialists Bennett Architectural have completed work on the John Taylor Free School based on Branston Road in Burton on Trent.
The new £30 million project is the first secondary school to be built in Staffordshire in 20 years.
Bennetts was commissioned to supply and install Kawneer AA720 architectural windows, doors and curtain walling as well as brise soleil working with Seddon and Glancy Nicholls Architects.
Lionel Grant, Managing Director at Bennett Architectural commented,
“It’s astonishing that this is the first secondary school built in the county in two decades but given our companies extensive experience of working on new builds and refurbishments of schools our team made light work of the project.
“Adding the brise soleil to the project gives the building a unique look that will definitely impress parents looking to enrol their children at the school in the future.”
CEO of John Taylor Multi-Academy Trust Mike Donoghue added,
“After a huge amount of collaboration with the county council, Seddon, and the Education and Skills Funding Agency, we are delighted to see our ambitions for the new school take one step closer to reality.”
The John Taylor Free School is set to open in September 2018.
