Dumfries and Galloway Hospital is one of 25 buildings shortlisted for this year’s Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS) Awards, which will be announced on Wednesday.
The £212 million project was the third DfMA project Bennett Architectural worked alongside Laing O’Rourke on, having already collaborated on the University Hospital of North Midlands and West Cumberland Hospital using off-site construction.
Stewart Henderson, President of the RIAS, commented,
“When shortlisting this year’s entries for awards the panel were struck by the continuing high standard of submissions.
“The quality of architecture being produced the length and breadth of the country is hugely impressive. Practices, large and small, continue to demonstrate the strength and purpose of the profession in Scotland.”
The winners of the RIAS Award 2018, will be announced at an awards evening on Wednesday 20th June at the Glasgow Hilton, which will also form the RIBA Scotland Awards shortlist.
RIAS Awards winners will also form the shortlist the annual Doolan Award; awarded to the best building in Scotland.
Dumfries & Galloway Hospital has been previously been short listed for the RTPI Awards for Planning Excellence and the MIPIM Awards.
