Bennett Architectural have been announced as a finalist for the Environmental Improvement Award at the Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2018.
This award highlights nominees use of resources and efficient processes to minimise waste on projects, including carbon emissions which are notoriously high from construction sites.
Bennett Architectural is currently working on its biggest DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) project at the New Grange University Hospital.
This off-site construction initiative reduces waste and carbon emissions on-site using modular construction of components in an off-site facility before transferring to the site for a quicker installation.
Earlier this year Bennetts also had a successful grant application from the Low Carbon Business Evolution Programme in Staffordshire to have LED lighting installed across the entire headquarters.
Lionel Grant, Managing Director at Bennett Architectural commented,
“We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted for this award.
“As a very conscientious and proud green company this only re-affirms our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint on-site as well as at our head offices.”
The Supply Chain Excellence Awards take place on Tuesday 6th November at the Hilton, Park Lane in London.
