How did you first hear about Bennett Architectural?
I was in my second and final year at Stoke Studio College when job opportunities started being advertised and Bennett Architectural were one of the companies looking to take on somebody from my course. After a brief look at what Bennetts were all about and what the role would involve I decided that this was the best fit for me and applied straight away.
I first joined on a 2 day a week basis until I had finished my course when I then came into a full-time role.
What were your first impressions of the working environment?
Obviously the first time in the working environment is quite daunting as you don’t know what to expect but I felt very welcomed by everybody at the company and soon settled in.
I soon realised that the company was very structured and professional, but also a pleasant environment to work in.
In terms of the first impressions of my job role, there seemed to be a lot of technically challenging aspects and I couldn’t wait to get started.
Tell us about some of the projects you’ve worked on so far?
Firstly, I started working in design processing which meant I could look at most projects. This gave me more of an opportunity to see the many unique details that may be involved in curtain walling/window design.
As I progressed my knowledge in the processing area, I was slowly integrated into the design team which meant I could be part of the initial design stage therefore working on specific jobs. The project I have mostly been involved with recently is New Era Development based in Sheffield. This job includes some interesting and unusual details which require a lot of thinking about. I don’t mind this though as a challenge is always welcome!
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I enjoy the fact that every day presents different challenges which means my job never gets boring. It also helps that we have a fantastic team who get on with each other and are willing to work together effectively.
