Posted: 16 September 2010
Work is now complete on the prestigious and stunning HQ Chester complex.
The architecturally striking circular hotel, office and residential development features sweeping glazed facades by Bennett Architectural offering magnificent views of the historic city and Chester race course.
The five storey building, occupying a prominent site inside Chester’s Roman walls, was developed by Liberty Properties and built by Pochin Construction.
Lionel Grant, Managing Director, of Bennett Architectural, said: “We are proud to be associated with such a prestigious and visually striking new building.
“The project was worth £3.5 million to Bennett Architectural and was the largest single project we have undertaken.”
The building was constructed to exceptionally high specifications and features Bennett Architectural’s curtain wall and silicon glazed systems.
Bennett Architectural also devised an innovative solution for the glazed feature balconies in HQ Chester’s residential apartments and supplied and fitted large glazed areas for restaurants in the complex.
Located on the site of the former Cheshire Constabulary Headquarters, HQ Chester comprises 35 residential apartments overlooking the famous Roodee racecourse, a four-star Abode hotel, 5,574 sq m (60,000 sq ft) of offices and a number of restaurants. The envelope of the building incorporates glass and natural stone cladding.
