Healthcare window in the spotlight at major exhibition

Posted: 16 September 2010

A specialist window design which is setting new standards for safety and security in secure hospital settings is to be showcased at a prestigious exhibition.

Bennett Architectural is exhibiting its new health care window at the IHEEM annual conference staged by the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management.

The exhibition at the Manchester Central conference centre on October 5 and October 6 represents a first for glazed solutions specialists Bennett Architectural.

Rob Bennett, Sales Director, said: “The company has not taken a stand at an exhibition before.  But we have developed an innovative solution to the issue of providing safe, secure and attractive windows for the secure hospital and mental health sector and we want to raise awareness among estate management staff in the sector.

“Our health care windows can be securely locked in different positions and have specially designed anti ligature fittings.

“In addition, the attractive design is in keeping with modern hospital building practices where buildings are designed by architects so that they do not have the feel of the institutionalised hospitals of the past.”

Bennett Architectural’s  health care windows have been specially developed, building on window systems available from Kawneer.

The theme of the IHEEM exhibition is “clean, lean, safe and green.”  Manchester Central is a major new conference and exhibition centre in the city’s former Central Station building, which in recent years has been known as the GMEX centre.
